Hello!

Dr. Yemi Afolabi is a highly qualified, passionate, and experienced education professional with over 30 years of experience across the education sector. She has extensive expertise in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Montessori education, with a strong commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice.

From Classroom to Leadership: A Depth of Experience

Yemi spent several years working directly in Montessori classrooms, guiding and teaching children from birth through to primary age, before progressing into leadership and taking on the role of Headteacher at a Montessori primary school in London. This hands-on classroom experience, combined with senior leadership experience, gives her a deep understanding of both pedagogy and practice.

True education is not just about teaching a curriculum; it is about cultivating an environment where every child feels seen, heard, and capable of discovering their own unique potential.

Cultivating Potential Through Reflective Practice

Yemi has extensive experience in designing inclusive, diverse, and stimulating learning environments, informed by a wide range of educational approaches and resources, including Montessori pedagogy. She is strongly committed to supporting early years practitioners and Montessori teachers through consultancy, training, coaching and mentoring, enabling them to build professional confidence and deepen reflective practice.

A strong advocate for lifelong learning and a growth mindset, Yemi is committed to continually developing her professional knowledge to enhance her impact on educators and the children they serve. Her work is driven by a passion for raising standards in early years education and ensuring that children remain at the heart of every decision.

Bridging the Gap in Early Years Education

Her experience as an Early Years Inspector and researcher has deepened her understanding of the complex challenges facing early years providers, enabling her to offer practical, evidence-informed and empathetic support. She takes particular pride in empowering practitioners to meet the diverse needs of young children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those facing barriers to their learning and/or well-being. Through her guidance, educators create nurturing and inspiring environments where children thrive, laying strong foundations for confident, independent and capable adults.

“The successive levels of education must correspond to the successive personalities of the child.”
